PRACTA at the conference Together for Innovation In Health
On the days 8-9 December 2016 the international conference Together for Innovation In Health took place In Cracow, Poland (http://www.ncbr.gov.pl/aktualnosci/art,4759,rozpoczela-sie-konferencja-polsko-norweska.html). The host, Polish-Norwegian Research Programme invited PRACTA team to present the project among other research founded within the Norway Grants founding.
PRACTA’s scope and chosen results were introduced by Marta Rzadkiewicz, PhD in a session devoted to prevention and treatment of civilisation diseases. This session was lead and introduced by the lecture on health promotion role in preventing of non-communicable diseases from prof. Geir Arild Espnes, the leader of Norwegian partner in our project.
Other topics covered: health policy, pathogenesis, biomedical engineering or new medicines and drug delivery systems. Among renowned names prof. Maria Siemionow form University of Illinois, USA, had given a lecture concerning the role cellular therapy might play in the future of regenerative medicine.
Prof. Piotr Trzonkowski from Gdansk University at the end of the conference have shown promising effects of a similar therapy in treatment of type I diabetes among youth.
Warsaw Medical University was also represented by prof. Rafał Płoski who give a talk concerning the whole exome sequencing for diagnosis of monogenic diseases.
It was interesting experience to place PRACTA research in such a broad perspective on health innovations. In the comment to our presentations it was pointed out that there is a need to translate and disseminate the e-learning programme and its development or modification for other specialist.
