“The 2nd International Forum of Health Promotion Research – Next Health”, was held in Trondheim, Norway, between 25-28th of August, 2014. This event gathered top researchers from many countries, such as: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, United States, Australia or New Zealand, working within the field of broadly understood health promotion.
Dr Joanna Chylińska, presented the first results from the first wave of the PRACTA study which regarded differences in perception of needs related to health care and health promotion, as well as the attitude toward illness and health among the elderly patients and their physicians at the primary care level.
As the interdisciplinary cooperation has been called for, specialists from various disciplines of science participated in the Forum. Researchers representing public health, psychology, sociology, nursing, physiotherapy, economy were present. What’s worth to note, the conference facilitated not only the exchange between scientific disciplines, but also – between academics and practitioners.
Main themes discussed during the conference regarded areas such as health promotion in health care systems, in organizations, among the elderly and among children and adolescents.
The participants vigorously contributed to discussions held in parallel and poster sessions, as well as after plenary sessions and lectures. Key note speakers invited to the Forum included:
